9 Cents Per Gallon: The New Obama Gas Tax

President Obama’s EPA is announcing a new emissions program this morning that will add up to a tax of 9 cents per gallon for the consumer.

“An oil industry study says the proposed rule being unveiled Friday by the administration could increase gasoline prices by 6 cents to 9 cents a gallon.”

It’s clear that President Obama is using his final four years to kotow to the far-left environmentalists that helped elect him. Free from further elections, he’s taxing the middle and working class Americans in a very direct way.

This is a continuing trend for President Obama. Last week, his former campaign apparatus bashed the Keystone XL proposal that would bring over 20,000 jobs and set us on a path to energy independence.

Earlier this week, he announced a fundraiser at the mansion of liberal billionaire Tom Steyer. Steyer is a chief opponent of Keystone and recently led the charge to make Los Angeles coal-free.
