Alison is next on the list
In a bizarre move that has caused serious progressive backlash – the DCCC went nuclear on one of their own candidates last night. They posted opposition research on a Democrat candidate in Texas on their website attacking her for having no ties to the state she’s running in.
DCCC: “Moser just moved to Texas from Washington, DC. (BACKUP)” If they decide to use this same odd strategy in other primaries – someone should notify Alison Friedman.
Alison recently moved into Virginia from the Bay Area of California – Nancy Pelosi territory. She raised nearly half of her $1 million in California. For comparison, only 4% of what she raised came from Virginia – where she is actually running for congress.
Since the DCCC has suddenly dramatically raised their standards post-recruiting, then they have quite a few candidates across the country that they should put on their political evisceration list. It would make sense to continue this winning strategy in Virginia’s 10th district, where their large field of Democrats is quickly becoming a big problem. After publicly heralding Jennifer Wexton’s entrance into the race, they were forced to back off when she failed to raise an acceptable amount of cash.
Why not just blindside the biggest fundraiser in the race and publicly crush her campaign to prop Wexton up? I know they are thinking it…
