sanctuary for criminals?

January 1, 1970

Only in Washington could politicians turn keeping criminals off our streets into a partisan issue.

Tonight, Democrats opposed action to:

  • Prevent federal law enforcement from deporting criminal unauthorized immigrants
  • Protect unauthorized immigrants with a criminal record from being prosecuted under federal immigration laws
  • Allow “sanctuary cities” to continue to disregard the enforcement of federal immigration laws, letting undocumented immigrants with criminal records roam freely

Making matters even worse, (MEMBER X) turned around and voted no on H.R. 3004, Kate’s law, which would toughen laws against unauthorized immigrants with a history of crime and deportations.

“Keeping criminals off our streets and away from our children isn’t a partisan issue – it’s just common sense. How can (MEMBER X) justify this vote to (STATE) families who expect their elected leaders to protect them?” -NRCC Spokesman Jack Pandol
