Rangel Pays 11G to Taxman

Rep. Charles Rangel has sent six checks totaling $10,800 to the IRS and New York state to cover three years’ worth of back taxes, his top aide told The Post yesterday.
Rangel’s belated payments are intended to cover tax years 2004 through 2006 that didn’t account for income he received from his villa in the Dominican Republic, as well as the 2004 sale of a Harlem apartment building to his neighborhood church, according to his chief of staff, George Dalley.
“This was the amount the accountant determined was owed,” Dalley said.
