Rangel Caribbean Getaway Tied to Clinton

Bubba brought home a bundle of Benjamins from the beach. The foundation connected to Rep. Charles Rangel’s tainted Caribbean getaway made a hefty contribution to former President Bill Clinton’s charity, records show.

For years, the Clintons vacationed practically gratis at the ultra-exclusive Punta Cana Resort in the Dominican Republic.

Bill and Hillary were often guests of designer Oscar de la Renta, who along with Rangel are some of the resort’s most high-profile villa owners. Rangel’s sweetheart no-interest mortgage from labor lawyer Ted Kheel to purchase his beachfront cabana created an ethical snafu for the Harlem Democrat, as did subsequent revelations that he failed to pay income tax on rent he received from the property.
