somebody's getting scared…

January 1, 2009

Oh boy…

If you needed any further evidence that Jim Matheson is in the toughest fight of his life, you’ve now got it.

Today, Matheson caved and reversed his previous position of opposing a repeal of ObamaCare. Why? Because Matheson is staring-down the final campaign on his career.

Matheson showed his true colors in 2011 when he voted to keep the $500 billion in Medicare cuts and tax increases included in ObamaCare. Matheson might try to save his career four months out from election day, but voters know they cannot afford to bring him back in November.

When Matheson was in the middle of a Democrat primary in June 2010, he said this:

“I wouldn’t vote to repeal it because there are some components in this bill that we all value and believe in… To take just a meat-axe approach and say ‘oh, let’s just repeal the whole bill,’ you know, there are components to this bill that shouldn’t be repealed, and I’ve been very up-front about articulating what they are.”

When given the chance to repeal ObamaCare in January 2011, Matheson voted AGAINST repeal. The Salt Lake Tribune reported this:

“Now that it’s in place, Matheson says Congress should work to fix concerns with the measure, not just toss it all out.”

“Jim Matheson has changed. When Utah needed him most, he was playing to his liberal base. Now, he’s trying to fool voters so he can stay in Washington and support more Obama policies.”
