Why hasn’t Betty Sutton condemned Occupy Cleveland?

January 1, 2009

 Good Morning,

After yesterday’s frightening news that 5 members of the Occupy Cleveland movement were plotting to blow up a bridge over the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, one would think that Betty Sutton would have strong words condemning the actions. Nope. On the contrary, Sutton has embraced the Occupy movement, even missing votes to rally with them in New York City.

Sutton’s silence on a plan to potentially harm hundreds of her constituents reveals that her priorities lie with radical, far-left protestors rather than Ohioans.

NRCC COMMENT: "Not only has Betty Sutton missed votes to protest with Occupy Wall Street, she is now refusing to condemn a plot by Occupy members to blow up an Ohio bridge. Sutton’s cowardly silence shows she would rather riot with Occupy than stand up for Ohio families." – NRCC Spokeswoman Andrea Bozek
