Visclosky Subpoena Reported

May 29, 2009

Federal law enforcement officials who raided the lobbyist Paul Magliocchetti’s PMA Group have obtained a grand jury subpoena to seize documents from the offices of Representative Peter J. Visclosky, the congressman said on Friday.

The subpoena seeks documents related to the lobbying firm that are in Mr. Visclosky’s Congressional and campaign committee offices, and was also addressed to “certain employees,” Mr. Visclosky, an Indiana Democrat, said in a statement.

“It is my intention to fully cooperate with the investigation consistent with my constitutional obligations to Congress and my duties and responsibilities to my constituents,” he said. “I will continue to work hard to represent the people of Indiana’s First Congressional District as I have done since being elected to Congress. I am confident that at the end of this process, no one will conclude that I have done anything wrong or harmed my constituents in any way.”
