Key Democrat Says Minnick ‘Committed’ to Party’s Healthcare Takeover

Washington- According to a leading Democrat in charge of steering his re-election, Walt Minnick has apparently quietly changed his position on his party’s government healthcare takeover. Minnick, who is a member of the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee’s Frontline program to defend endangered incumbents, previously came out against Nancy Pelosi’s reckless healthcare agenda. According to Frontline chief Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Minnick and his fellow Frontline members are ready to line up behind their party leadership and support a bill that would raise taxes, kill jobs, and destroy Medicare.

“The House Member heading the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee program to re-elect vulnerable Members in the 2010 elections said Tuesday that the lawmakers remain committed to passing a health care overhaul despite an August filled with heated town halls.

“‘I haven’t talked to a single ‘Frontline’ member who is wavering in their support for health care reform — on the contrary,’ Rep. “It looks like Walt Minnick’s true colors have finally started to show,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “Now that Minnick appears to be marching in lock-step with his party bosses, Idaho families can only wonder what changed his mind. Was it the job-killing tax hike, sky-high deficits, provisions that would force millions from their current coverage, or decimation of Medicare that persuaded Minnick to back this disastrous agenda? Whatever it was, Minnick owes an explanation to his constituents as to why he seems to be telling them one thing and his party leaders another.”

Nancy Pelosi’s government healthcare takeover is losing steam by the day as Americans continue to speak out against the Democrats’ reckless agenda. That doesn’t seem to have stopped Walt Minnick from dutifully flip-flopping in order to support his party leaders. Idaho families can only ask: What’s next?
