Leader Boehner Pledges Support to Secure Armed Services Seat for Dede Scozzafava
Washington- House Republican Leader John Boehner today pledged his support to secure an assignment on the important House Armed Services Committee for New York’s Twenty-Third Congressional District candidate Dede Scozzafava:
“Dede Scozzafava has my full support for a seat on the House Armed Services Committee. John McHugh’s leadership on Armed Services was invaluable for the troops and military families in New York’s Twenty-Third Congressional District, and Dede is the ideal candidate to carry on that service. I look forward to working with her, the Republican leadership, and the Members of the Steering Committee to make this happen at the earliest possible opportunity.”
New York’s Twenty-Third Congressional District encompasses all or part of 11 counties throughout the central and northern part of the Empire State. The district includes Fort Drum, home of the Army’s 10th Mountain Division. Over 12% of the people living in New York’s Twenty-Third Congressional District are military veterans.
