Will Betsy Markey Back Healthcare Takeover as Plan Hits New Low?
New Poll: Obama-Pelosi Agenda Less Popular than Ever

Washington- A new poll released today shows that the government healthcare takeover orchestrated by Betsy Markey’s Washington leaders has reached a new low with the American public, with an overwhelming 56 percent disapproving of their reckless agenda. With her party’s healthcare plans sinking fast, will Markey again ignore a majority of the American people in order to maintain her unflinching party loyalty?

According to Rasmussen Reports:

“Just 41% of voters nationwide now favor the health care reform proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s down two points from a week ago and the lowest level of support yet measured.

“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% are opposed to the plan.” (“Support for Health Care Reform Plan Hits New Low,” Rasmussen Reports, 9/28/09)

“Betsy Markey faces a very simple decision: Will she do her job as a representative for the folks that sent her to Washington, or will she stand by President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of her party leaders as their government healthcare takeover goes down in flames?” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “Markey has long been a proponent of the elitist ‘Washington knows best’ attitude that has led her party to force a reckless agenda upon the American people, but these jarring poll numbers should serve as a wake-up call.”

As Betsy Markey’s party leaders continue to push yet another proposal to kill jobs and raise taxes, it’s clear that her party’s plans to tax and spend the country into oblivion are a non-starter with the American people. With new poll numbers showing her party’s healthcare agenda is less popular than ever, will Betsy Markey finally see the light?
