No Thanks to Zack Space’s Stimulus, Ohio’s Economy Is Spiraling Out of Control

Ohio’s Economy is on the Brink of Disaster as Unemployment Continues to Climb

Washington- With the Labor Department’s latest report now putting Ohio’s unemployment rate at 10.5 percent, economic recovery is nowhere in sight for middle-class families across the state – with no help from Zack Space. Space and his party bosses pushed a trillion-dollar stimulus with promises of economic recovery, but Ohio’s unemployment continues to rise. And now, even Space’s party is admitting that their runaway spending spree was a failure as they attempt to piece together support in Washington for another so-called ‘stimulus’ spending bill:

“Pelosi said key lawmakers working on new economic stimulus proposals were looking at ‘an array of issues to establish the priorities which are the most successful in producing jobs and reducing the deficit.’”

“The speaker cited a need for extending unemployment benefits and a hope for investment in infrastructure and said Democrats aimed to ‘calibrate’ their approach to craft a strategy that ‘produces the most jobs before we add to the deficit and put a weight on the economy in that respect.’” (“Pelosi vows action on new economic stimulus,” AFP, 11/18/2009)

It is apparent that with Zack Space and Washington Democrats holding the reins, the only growth the nation will experience is the size of the federal government. Despite being faced with an economic crisis, Space and his leaders continue to waste billions of taxpayer dollars in their push to pass yet another piece of their reckless partisan agenda. With Americans clamoring for economic recovery, Democrats continue to drive an even bigger hole in the deficit with big-government spending and a drive to pass a job-killing government healthcare takeover. Unsurprisingly, this blind partisanship doesn’t sit well with the American people:

“Gallup finds an increase after eight consecutive monthly declines in the percentage naming the economy as the most important problem. Now, 31% of Americans mention the economy in general terms as the top problem, up from 26% last month.” (Jeffrey M. Jones, “Economy Picks Up Again as Most Important Problem in U.S.,” Gallup, 11/16/2009)

“Zack Space and his party leaders promised recovery with their first trillion-dollar spending spree, but all Ohio families have seen so far is climbing unemployment and fewer jobs,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “As unemployment continues to climb, Washington Democrats are scrambling to blow an even bigger hole in the deficit with another spending spree. Space and his Democrat friends might want to cover their tracks from their last failed attempt at a ‘stimulus,’ but with Ohio unemployment at 10.5 percent, it’s time for them to end their reckless anti-jobs crusade. Despite these jarring unemployment numbers, Democrats continue to push their failed policies, but the numbers don’t lie: Democrats are stopping economic recovery in its tracks.”
