NRCC Launches TV Ad: Spratt’s Backdoor to Government-Run Healthcare

Nancy Pelosi’s Budget Chairman John Spratt Subverts Taxpayers, Signs His Own Political Obituary

Washington- In a 30 second TV ad that will begin airing this week in South Carolina’s Fifth District, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is targeting Nancy’s Pelosi’s House Budget Committee chairman, South Carolina Democrat Rep. John Spratt, for his authorship of a budget plan that would allow Pelosi and Congressional Democrats to ram government-run healthcare through Congress using an arcane procedure known as reconciliation.  The budget that Spratt designed allows Democrats to strong-arm the government takeover of healthcare through the Senate with only 51 votes necessary to advance the bill, instead of the 60 votes required in the upper chamber. The ad’s message is unmistakable: John Spratt’s true loyalties lie with Nancy Pelosi’s big-government agenda, not the hard-working middle class South Carolina families he was elected to serve.

“Thanks to the disastrous legislation authored by John Spratt, Democrats are prepared to use backdoor tactics to ram Pelosi’s government-run healthcare bill through Congress against the wishes of American taxpayers,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “This ad will alert South Carolinians to Spratt’s role in this underhanded process and hold him accountable for his actions. By writing Pelosi’s disastrous budget, John Spratt may have effectively written his own political obituary.”

Transcript: The press called it “the most fiscally irresponsible budget in the history of the federal government.”

And John Spratt wrote it. Spratt is Nancy Pelosi’s budget chairman….and the Spratt budget has a trillion dollar deficit.

And Spratt’s the architect of legislation Democrats may use to ram through a government takeover of health care.

Call John Spratt. Tell him to represent South Carolina…and NOT Nancy Pelosi.
