NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions Statement on Congressman Vernon Ehlers’ Retirement

Washington- NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX) made the following statement today upon the announcement that Congressman Vernon Ehlers (R-MI) will be retiring at the end of his current term:

“Vern Ehlers has proudly served Western Michigan with distinction for nearly two decades, and it has been an honor to serve with him.  Vern’s presence in the halls of Congress will truly be missed, and I wish him and his wife Johanna the very best.  Voters in the Grand Rapids area have long supported Republican candidates who stand for limited government and pro-growth economic policies, and we are confident that they will continue to do so in November.”
