Lynch takes note of 140m problems
Shea-Porter sinking
All Democratic incumbents took hits in the UNH poll done for WMUR-TV, but none worse than Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter. Shea-Porter’s favorability slipped underwater for the first time since UNH started polling about her in June 2006. Among the 1st District adults surveyed, 40 percent were unfavorable and 35 percent said they were favorable. It was a precipitous drop from last October, when only 31 percent were unfavorable while 42 percent said they liked her. The results were welcome for GOP candidates, led by former Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta, who badly needed the poll lead – 43 percent for Guinta to 33 percent for Shea-Porter – to help him raise money. The 2nd Congressional District results were a little less telling. Former Rep. Charles Bass led all three Democrats who’ve already said they would seek the party’s nomination. 2008 GOP nominee Jennifer Horn, of Nashua, was just ahead of Democrat Anne McLane Kuster, of Hopkinton, but trailed Katrina Swett, of Bow. The margin of error for the congressional surveys was plus or minus 7 percent. |
