NRCC Launches Stimulus Anniversary Web Video: “Where Are the Jobs?”

Democrats So-called ‘Stimulus’ Fails to Yield Results After One Year

Washington- Marking the one-year anniversary of the Democrats’ failed ‘stimulus,’ the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has released a new web video titled “Where are the jobs?” On February 17, 2009, President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act amid promises to keep unemployment under eight percent. But one year later, unemployment stands at nearly 10 percent, while crippling debt and massive deficits stand in the way of economic recovery. With almost a trillion dollars wasted and the country sinking deep into the red, Democrats are left defending their ‘stimulus’ boondoggle as the economy continues to bleed jobs.

“One year ago today, Nancy Pelosi and her loyal followers began their failed ‘stimulus’ spending spree and American families have seen nothing but ballooning deficits and mountains of debt,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “Despite wasting nearly a trillion dollars on a partisan spending agenda, the Democrats’ so-called ‘stimulus’ has failed to deliver the results once promised to middle-class families. As Democrats work feverishly to defend their big-government, big-spending agenda that has stood in the way of economic recovery for the past year, Americans are left asking: Where are the jobs?”
