Welcome to Code Red

March 2, 2010

Welcome to Code Red, a new project of the National Republican Congressional Committee designed to alert Americans to the dangers posed by Democrats’ government takeover of health care – and to help stop it.

The Wall Street Journal reports that “[i]n the Senate, Democrats are expected to use a parliamentary tactic known as reconciliation” to quickly ram through their health care takeover. There Democrats have 59 votes; reconciliation only requires 51.

And so, the New York Times says the future of a health care takeover “now rests largely with two blocs of swing Democrats in the House of Representatives.” That makes Congress the last line of defense in our fight against government-run health care.

Project Code Red is your source for information and tools that will help you get involved and stop this bill. On the Code Red website you’ll find a list of targeted Democratic lawmakers who have yet to take a position on the latest proposal, as well as comparisons of the Democrats’ reckless scheme and the Republican alternative, the latest news and web ads, and more.

Sign up today to receive regular alerts from Code Red. And if you’re on Twitter, be sure to include the #gopcodered hash tag in any health care-related Tweets.

But above all, stay tuned – and stay engaged! Thanks for stopping by and for your support of our cause!
