Kilroy, Space and Sutton Distance Themselves from Rangel

It’s time for a powerful Democratic House member to leave his committee chairmanship, say some Ohio Democrats.

Democratic Reps. Mary Jo Kilroy of Columbus and Zack Space of Dover said yesterday they will vote for a Republican-sponsored resolution stripping Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., of his Ways and Means Committee post.

Stepping aside voluntarily would be the responsible thing to do, Kilroy said.

“I hope he has learned from his mistake, but I do not think he should be a distraction to the work we’re doing to save and create jobs, and fix our ailing economy.”
