Wall Street Journal Highlights Project Code Red/Pomeroy Billboard In Bismarck

March 12, 2010

From WSJ.com: With a final vote drawing near on President Barack Obama’s health overhaul, Republicans’ latest strategy can be neatly summarized: scare the daylights out of House Democrats.

“The National Republican Congressional Committee, which coordinates GOP House campaigns, has launched a ‘Code Red’ initiative targeting individual Democrats. This includes a billboard in Bismarck, N.D., aimed at Rep. Earl Pomeroy, North Dakota’s only congressman. ‘Stop Obamacare-Beat Pomeroy,’ says the 24-foot white-on-red billboard, a block from Mr. Pomeroy’s office…..Mr. Pomeroy could not be reached for comment. But when the House passed the overhaul last November, he voted for it, saying it wasn’t perfect but an important step forward.  Republicans are also targeting other Democrats, mostly in swing districts, including Reps. Gabrielle Gifford of Arizona, Rick Boucher of Virginia and Jim Matheson of Utah.”
