NRCC Continues to Apply Pressure

March 15, 2010

From Politico.com: “But the vote is far from locked up, and the NRCC is going to keep applying pressure on undecided Democrats through the television ads, billboards and targeted phone calls that have won the committee’s ‘Code Red’ program so much attention. The House GOP will send mailers to senior citizens, spotlighting the impact health care reform could have on Medicare. And where Democrats switch their ‘no’ votes to ‘yes,’ Republicans will call it the result of pressure to appease liberal interest groups — the kind New York Rep. Michael McMahon reportedly felt from the SEIU. Said NRCC spokesman Paul Lindsay: ‘We will be doubling down on our efforts this week with a full court press to remind wavering Democrats of the consequences of backing this government healthcare takeover.’”
