Shuler Gives Himself “Wiggle Room” Despite Leaning ‘NO’

March 18, 2010

From Gannett: “Rep. Heath Shuler signaled Wednesday that he is leaning toward voting against the final health care legislation that the House and Senate may consider in the coming days.  But the Waynesville, North Carolina Democrat also gave himself plenty of wiggle room as he faces a torrent of pressure from both sides.  ‘There is no question that our current health care system is broken and that we need to make significant reforms to improve it in an equitable, fiscally responsible and sustainable manner. In my opinion the Senate bill as written does not meet that criteria,’ Shuler said in a written statement.” By Code Red
