Space Cadet Kosmas to Vote ‘YES’
“After days of fence-sitting, U.S. Rep. Suzanne Kosmas of New Smyrna Beach said Friday that she would support a sweeping Democratic plan for healthcare reform that has divided the country even as it aims to bring health insurance to 95 percent of Americans… Last week, President Barack Obama invited Kosmas to the White House for a 15-20 minute conversation to personally lobby the freshman lawmaker on her vote. She responded by pressing Obama on NASA. Kosmas represents Kennedy Space Center, which is set to lose up to 9,000 jobs when the space shuttle retires this year. She wants Obama to consider adding shuttle flights and giving NASA more money so it can accelerate plans for a replacement.” (Mark Matthews, “Exclusive: Kosmas to back healthcare reform,” Orlando Sentinel, 03/19/10)By Code Red
