Minn. governor endorses Duffy for Congress

April 1, 2010

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty Wednesday endorsed
Ashland County District Attorney Sean Duffy in
Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District.

Duffy is running against organic farmer Dan Mielke
of Rudolph for the Republican nomination to
challenge Rep. Dave Obey, D-Wausau, who has held
the seat for more than 40 years. Mielke challenged
Obey in 2008.

Pawlenty, a Republican, is believed in political
circles to be positioning himself for a presidential
run in 2012. He posted to his Web site a list of
endorsements of eight candidates in House and
Senate races.

Duffy previously received the endorsement of Sarah
Palin, who on Feb. 17 posted a fundraising message
on Duffy’s behalf on her Facebook page.

Before becoming Ashland County district attorney in
2002, Duffy was a professional lumberjack. In 1997,
he was a cast member of the MTV reality show “The
Real World: Boston.”
