Suzanne Kosmas Flip-Flopped for Obamacare, Now She Will Pay the Price

Washington– The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has begun the next phase of its Code Red offensive, launching TV ads targeting Suzanne Kosmas (D-FL) for her help in ramming an unpopular and politically toxic healthcare bill through Congress. Kosmas and the rest of “The Flip Flop Five” each voted ‘NO’ when the House first voted on a government healthcare takeover in November 2009.  Then, after shady backroom deals and heavy arm-twisting, Kosmas turned her back on the American people and caved to immense pressure from President Obama and Speaker Pelosi. Rather than listening to her constituents at home, Suzanne Kosmas listened to her party bosses in Washington and fell for the Democrats’ big-spending ways by ultimately casting a deciding ‘YES’ vote for Obamacare.

“Suzanne Kosmas put party loyalty ahead of making the right decision when she flip-flopped on Obamacare and delivered one of the decisive votes in favor of her party’s healthcare takeover,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “By rubber-stamping hundreds of billions of dollars in unprecedented government spending, massive tax increases, and Medicare cuts, Suzanne Kosmas has put her job on the line. Spring may be here but, unfortunately for Kosmas, flip-flops don’t seem to be in style this year.”

Transcript: Some flip-flops are elegant… carefree… even beautiful. But one flip-flop was just disgusting. Take Suzanne Kosmas. She voted against Obamacare in November. But then she flipped… and flopped. Kosmas cast a decisive vote in favor of Obamacare – massive tax increases… cuts to Medicare… bigger government. That’s a big flip. And she’s a big flop.
