NRCC’s Code Red Launches Stupak Sellout Website
15 Democrat Sellouts Followed Stupak and Sold Out Constituents to Pass Obamacare

Washington- As part of the next phase of its Code Red offensive, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has launched a new website, “Stupak Sellouts” (http://www.stupaksellouts.com), targeting 15 supposedly “pro-life” Democrats who originally endorsed Bart Stupak’s (D-MI) amendment prohibiting federally funded abortions, then sold out their constituents and supported a healthcare bill without those restrictions. Stupak sheepishly announced his retirement just 20 days after dismissing public opinion and selling out his constituents to clear the path for the government healthcare takeover. Now, 15 other Democrats who caved to Pelosi and the radical demands of their party leaders in order to pass Obamacare are forced to face the constituents who they sold out and own up to their decision.

Despite spending his political career touting pro-life values, it turns out Dennis Cardoza might not be a pro-life Democrat after all. Faced with the opportunity to uphold his promises to protect the sanctity of life, Cardoza caved to Speaker Pelosi and his party leaders and not only helped to pass the Democrats’ government takeover of healthcare, but also paved the way for federal funding of abortion.

“Now that retiree Bart Stupak succumbed to shady backroom deals and doesn’t have his so-called ‘conservative’ values to hide behind anymore, his constituents can see his political double-speak for what it is,” said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain. “Dismissing public opinion and putting the demands of his radical party leaders before the majority of voters who opposed this legislation, Dennis Cardoza followed Stupak’s lead and willingly paved the way for a government healthcare takeover, including federal funding of abortion. After turning his back on his constituents and selling his soul to party leaders, Dennis Cardoza and the rest of the ‘Stupak Sellouts’ must ultimately face their constituents, own up to their decision, and pay the price in November ”
