Berg Campaigns in Area

National political experts say the race for the US House from North Dakota is one to watch this year.

Incumbent Earl Pomeroy has been elected nine times, but national polls have indicated he’s trailing his Republican opponent Rick Berg.

And today, Berg was in Minot as he begins ramping up his campaign.

He toured the Energy Park and the Port of North Dakota.

Berg says the recently-passed financial overhaul bill contained some good parts, but he would vote for changes if he’s elected in November.

(Rick Berg, -R- Candidate for Congress) “There’s all this uncertainty with this bill on what the rules are going to be and how that’s going to change and how it’s going to affect them. Congressman Pomeroy has lauded passage of the financial overhaul bill, saying it was needed to restore the nation’s economy.
