How Scared is the DCCC? Very.

July 28, 2010

Democrats are scared.

In fact – they’re terrified of midterm elections this November.

Since taking control of Congress in 2006, Nancy Pelosi and her puppets in the House have been responsible for adding trillions to the national debt, taking away the right of Americans to choose their doctors and blowing over $787 billion in “stimulus” spending that did nothing to stop unemployment from rising to 9.5%.

According to The New York Times, the DCCC is worried enough about their prospects this fall to reserve $49 million (more than they currently have, but these Democrats have shown no concern with living within their means when it comes to government spending – so this should not be a surprise) in air time across the country to defend their incumbents. This goes to show that party insiders have finally picked up on what Americans have been saying for months: we’re sick and tired of the failed policy decisions being made by Democrat elites.

Just how tough of a time do Democrats expect? Well let’s look at where they’ve reserved TV advertising…

– SC-05 for 14-term Pelosi Budget Chairman John Spratt who won his last re-election with 62% of the vote but faces an uphill battle this fall. Could these be because he refuses to author a budget?
– MA-10 in a desperate attempt for the DCCC best their Senate counterpart by not losing a once-thought reliably liberal seat in Massachusetts.
IL-10, IL-11, and IL-14 are all in the state called “home” by President Obama. Apparently more than just his own popularity is at stake.
– VA-11, showing that even the DC suburbs where Obama won 57% of the vote are moving against the Democrats.

We’ve been used to Democrat double-speak on fiscal responsibility and ethics. We’ve even grown used to their pandering and false promises. But the new reality is that we’re going to have to be used to and prepared for them to do anything and everything to cling to power.

This news is a completely different tune from what DCCC Chairman Chris Van Hollen was singing just last year when he claimed Democrats would be “staying on offense” during the 2010 cycle.

Over the next three months, the NRCC will be doing everything we can to capture as many of these vulnerable seats as possible, so be sure to check back often for the latest developments on races across the country as we fight to take back Congress.
