Boehner: Stop the Spending Spree, Fire Geithner
Dear Supporter,
There are only 10 weeks to go before Election Day. If you think Washington needs to aggressively reduce spending – now – to help create new jobs and wipe out the deficit, click here and support Republicans who will make it happen.
In a speech today in Cleveland I called on President Obama to join Republicans in cutting government spending, stopping the tax hikes, and helping small businesses create new jobs. But Democrats aren’t listening. That’s why I need your help right away.
Please make an immediate online contribution of $10, $25, $50, or whatever you can spare to help me arm Republican candidates – principled conservatives who will cut spending – with the resources they need to run aggressive grassroots campaigns all the way until November 2nd.
We’ve endured 19 months of government-as-community-organizer and it hasn’t worked. Unemployment is sky-high across the country and we’re sinking deeper into debt by the minute.
That’s why I call on the president to immediately ask for – and accept – the resignations of his economic team, starting with Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and Larry Summers, the head of the National Economic Council.
This is the team that helped devise the Democrats’ reckless agenda of more spending, more taxing, and more government, and that’s backed a massive tax hike affecting more than half of all small business income – impacting the same employers we need to be hiring new workers.
Democrats want to raise taxes to fuel even more government spending. But as I said today, we will not solve our fiscal challenges until we cut spending and have real economic growth – and we won’t have real economic growth if we keep raising taxes on small businesses.
We need a fresh start in Washington and a new Republican Majority in Congress that will fight for a smaller, more accountable government. So please make an online donation of $25, $50, $100, or more right away. Even a generous gift of just $5 will go a long way toward victory.
Remember, there only 10 weeks to go. I’m serious about aggressively reducing spending and getting our economy going, and I know you are too. That’s why I need your help. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for all of your support!
Sincerely,
John Boehner,
Republican Leader
P.S. After 19 months of government-as-community-organizer that hasn’t worked, we can’t wait a second longer for a fresh start in Washington. Send Democrats a message that we need to aggressively reduce spending, stop the tax hikes, and get our economy moving by making a generous contribution of $25, $50, $100, or more to the NRCC right away. Thank you again!
