Entering the Homestretch
Dear Supporter,
I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend, shared with friends and family.
Today marks the homestretch of this election cycle. In fact, yesterday, we launched our first TV ad of the cycle holding Rep. Donnelly (IN-02) accountable for his blind loyalty to Nancy Pelosi. Watch it here.

Less than two years ago, Democrats were riding high – having won the Presidency and solidified their control in both the House and Senate. Now, just 21 months later, they are a party in disarray, saddled with their legislative failures and desperate to point the blame at anyone but themselves.
Over the weekend, there were several developments that will plunge Democrats further into panic mode as they struggle to accept responsibility for their disastrous legislative agenda.
First, former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert Reich blunted any spin Democrats hoped to put out on the rising unemployment numbers saying:
“67,000 in August may be better than expected, but it’s still awful. 125,000 are needed just for the growth in potential workforce. And the trend is moving in the wrong direction. Revised figure shows private sector created 107,000 jobs in July. In other words, things are getting worse, not better.”
Second, The New York Times published a piece about Democrats’ struggle to overcome intense opposition to their agenda and the need to cut their losses this fall by triaging vulnerable Members with no shot at winning.
“Faced with a hostile political atmosphere, Democrats said they were trying to allow candidates to use specific conditions in their districts or flaws in the opposition to overcome the disadvantage created by a sour national mood and intense opposition to the party’s Congressional agenda.” Read the whole piece here.
Finally, Leader Boehner’s successful economic speech, in which he called for the President to fire Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and Larry Summers, the head of the National Economic Council, has forced the White House to send not just the Vice President, but President Obama himself, to Cleveland in an attempt to save face.
You have heard this many times the past two years, but I cannot stress it enough – Democrats have failed and we have an historic opportunity on November 2nd to hold them accountable by voting them out of office. They are desperate to hold onto power and will not go quietly, but together we can make sure their disinformation campaign will be even less successful than their economic policies.
Thank you,
Pete Sessions, NRCC Chairman
P.S. To quote President Obama, “Elections have consequences.” Unfortunately, as a result of the failure of the Pelosi/Obama agenda millions of American jobs are in danger or have been eliminated. Now is your chance to eliminate the jobs of dozens of Congressional Democrats who put loyalty to Pelosi above their constituents’ interests.
