Leader Boehner Pledges Support to Secure Agriculture Seat for Randy Demmer

Washington – House Republican Leader John Boehner pledged his support today to secure an assignment on the important House Agriculture Committee for Randy Demmer, GOP nominee for Minnesota’s First Congressional District.

“Randy Demmer has my full support for a seat on the House Agriculture Committee. As a retired farmer, Randy understands the challenges facing farmers, ranchers, and rural communities,” said House Republican Leader John Boehner. “He would be a strong advocate for solutions that address the issues facing agriculture communities, and I look forward to working with him, the Republican leadership, and the Members of the Steering Committee to place him on the House Agriculture Committee at the earliest possible opportunity.”

Boehner represents the two largest agriculture counties in Ohio and previously served on the House Agriculture Committee for 15 years.

Minnesota’s First Congressional District sits atop Iowa, stretching from the Mississippi River to the east and the Minnesota-South Dakota border to the west. Agriculture is one of the district’s major industries. The district is heavily populated by farm families raising crops like corn and soybeans, operating dairy farms and investing in made-in Minnesota renewable energy sources.

Randy Demmer is a “Contender” in the NRCC’s Young Guns program. Learn more about Randy here: http://demmerforcongress.com/.
