Don Volaric Advances to ‘On the Radar’
Michigan Candidate Takes Important First Step Toward ‘Young Gun’ Status
Washington– The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has officially announced Don Volaric (MI-12) as an ‘On the Radar’ candidate, an important first step in its Young Guns program. Founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and Paul Ryan (R-WI), the Young Guns program is a member-driven organization dedicated to electing open-seat and challenger candidates nationwide. Volaric is looking to unseat 28-year incumbent Sander Levin (D-MI).
The Young Guns program is designed to assist Republican candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives achieve goals and benchmarks throughout the election cycle focused on the fundamentals of a winning campaign. By achieving ‘On the Radar’ status, Volaric has already proven his ability to build a successful campaign structure and achieve important fundraising goals.
“The NRCC is committed to working with Don Volaric as he continues to meet the rigorous goals of the Young Guns program,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions. “Don is an accomplished, independent leader who will fight to create jobs and rein in government spending. I am confident that Don has what it takes to take on Sander Levin, an out-of-touch Washington politician solely focused on his party’s failed big-government, big-spending agenda.”
Volaric began his business career at the age of 23, when he was hired to run the third largest digital media company in Southern California. His strong drive to succeed allowed him to excel in the workplace and prompted his promotion to a regional management position for a region with approximately $50 million in sales. But his desire to return to his home state of Michigan prompted his relocation to the state and allowed him to grow his professional career in the mortgage banking and margin trading industry. A few years later, he would enter the health insurance industry and establish Freedom Health Insurance Agency, one of the largest health insurance agencies in that region. As a small businessman, entrepreneur and father, Volaric has the potential to bring a fresh perspective to Congress and protect Michigan families against threats to our prosperity, security, and liberty.
Having achieved certain benchmarks to place him on the road to victory, Don Volaric now faces a new set of rigorous goals that will help him advance to the next level of the Young Guns program and help him build a competitive, effective and winning campaign.
