Sean Bielat Advances to ‘Contender’ Status
Massachusetts Candidate Continues to Advance in ‘Young Gun’ Program

Washington- The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has officially announced that Sean Bielat (MA-04) has advanced to “Contender” status, a significant step in the progression of its Young Guns program. Founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and Paul Ryan (R-WI), the Young Guns program is a member-driven organization dedicated to electing open-seat and challenger candidates nationwide. Bielat is challenging 15-term incumbent Barney Frank (D-MA) in Massachusetts’ Fourth Congressional District this fall.

The Young Guns program is designed to assist Republican candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives achieve goals and benchmarks throughout the election cycle focused on the fundamentals of a winning campaign. By achieving ‘Contender’ status, Bielat has already demonstrated his ability to build a successful campaign structure and achieve vital fundraising goals.

“Sean Bielat has met a series of rigorous fundraising and campaign goals that will go a long way in helping to put this seat in the Republican column,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX). “Sean is part of a strong pool of candidates who are frustrated with the Democrat majority’s big-government ways and aren’t willing to stand by any longer. With such partisanship and reckless spending coming out of Washington, voters in Massachusetts are ready for new leadership.”

As a businessman, Marine and leader, Sean Bielat is ready to offer sound economic solutions to Barney Frank’s runaway spending agenda. Bielat worked his way through college and graduate school, with help from scholarships and the GI Bill. His hard work earned him a master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, a bachelor of arts from Georgetown University and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Bielat has worked as an Independent Consultant where he helped clients and companies build market strategies and a Program Manager for iRobot Corporation where he led a $100 million, 100 person business line, providing life-saving defense robots to destroy roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has also worked as a Management Consultant for Mckinsey & Company. In addition to his work, he has served as Chairman of the NATO Industrial Armaments Group and is a member of the Knights of Columbus, the International Institute for Security Studies, and the Council on Emerging National Security Affairs.

Having achieved certain benchmarks to place him on the road to victory, Sean Bielat now faces a new set of rigorous goals that will help him advance to the next level of the Young Guns program and help him build a competitive, effective and winning campaign.
