Sessions Bolsters Senior Staff With Patriot Program Director
Liesl Hickey To Replace Bob Honold, Will Assist Incumbents as NRCC Looks to Build on Historic Gains

Washington—National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX) announced today that he has filled another key senior position for the coming election cycle. Liesl Hickey will take on the role of Patriot Program Director, assisting incumbents as they commit themselves to meet rigorous goals that will strengthen their campaigns to ensure victory.

“It is a great honor to bring Liesl on board as we begin to put into place plans that will build on the historic gains Republicans made in November,” Sessions said. “Liesl has unique political experience and expertise in helping Members win difficult re-election campaigns cycle after cycle. These qualities make her an invaluable asset to the NRCC as we look forward to 2012.”

Hickey comes to the NRCC with extensive and diverse political experience. Having most recently served as an advisor to the National Republican Senatorial Committee, she also has experience in global health and development advocacy having worked with ONE, the grassroots campaign that works to eradicate poverty and communicable disease, as the Senior Director of U.S. Campaigns. Liesl has also previously served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Mark Kirk (R-IL), and as Finance Director for Senator Peter Fitzgerald’s campaign in 1998. Hickey will replace Bob Honold, who is starting a general political consulting practice and will be joining Revolution Agency as a partner.

“Bob is a star Republican operative whose skill and campaign savvy are victory-delivering assets to Members and candidates,” Sessions said. “He’s exactly who you want on your team and who you don’t want working against you. He will be greatly missed at the NRCC.”
