Washington—In marking the second anniversary of the passage of the $814 billion stimulus package, the National Republican Congressional Committee has given Jim Matheson a painful reminder of the toxic piece of legislation he supported that has hardly lived up to its lofty promises. In debuting “Texts From Last Congress”, the NRCC puts Democrats like Matheson in the hot seat as they struggle to explain their vote for a law that has only piled debt onto the backs of hard-working families while stifling job creation.
As Matheson pauses today to reflect on the second anniversary of the stimulus package he so valiantly defended, Utah voters are left to deal with the consequences of having a Representative that ignored his constituents. “Texts From Last Congress” is a reminder to Jim Matheson that he, for far too long, toed the line of the Democratic Party that spends too much, borrows too much and taxes us all too much.
