New NRCC Ad: Nick Rahall Doesn’t Support Domestic Energy Production

With Gas Prices on the Rise, Rahall’s Policies Cost West Virginians Even More
Washington—The National Republican Congressional Committee today released a TV ad highlighting Nick Rahall’s preference to add more red-tape on behalf of the government rather than enforce common-sense policies on behalf of West Virginians. As Rahall continues to ignore the calls for more energy production, his constituents are left with high unemployment and skyrocketing fuel and energy costs. With gas prices high and uncertainty in world markets running rampant, energy and fuel prices are only adding to the burden so many West Virginia families are dealing with.
“In a state that relies heavily on efficient and pragmatic energy policies, it makes little sense that Nick Rahall continues to support policies that raise taxes and discourage domestic energy production,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “With so many West Virginians struggling with high gas prices, Nick Rahall has once again turned his back on his constituents by standing with President Obama’s policies that do nothing to ease their burden. Instead of putting his voters’ interests first, Nick Rahall has once again made President Obama’s agenda his first priority.”

The ad reads as follows:
ANNCR: President Obama is putting the squeeze on West Virginia.
Pushing policies that raise gas prices.
And Nick Rahall is helping him do it.
Rahall says he could support higher gas taxes.
And Rahall voted with environmental radicals to support Obama’s moratorium on offshore drilling.
Tell Nick Rahall to stop siding with President Obama.
And stop squeezing West Virginia.
