Miller & Democrats Agree: The Way Forward is More Job-Destroying Taxes
North Carolina Democrat Stands in Solidarity with Democrat Leaders and Their Failed Policies

Washington — As Democrat leaders travel the country in an attempt to sell their plan to raise job-crushing taxes by $2 trillion, they are making it clear that Brad Miller and his allies in the House are on board. President Obama emphasized this approach yesterday in a town hall, and DCCC Chairman Steve Israel quickly responded that Miller and his fellow House Democrats completely agree with their tax hike proposal. As Israel noted, the dividing lines are clear – Miller and his fellow Democrats want to raise job-destroying taxes by $2 trillion instead of making the meaningful spending cuts that Americans are urging.

“Brad Miller and his Democrat leaders are making it crystal clear that they are ‘joined at the hip’ in their plans to raise taxes by an astounding $2 trillion, which would have a disastrous effect on an economy already struggling to recover from rising gas and food prices,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Apparently Miller and his Democrat allies are so addicted to the limitless levels of government spending that they would rather raise taxes and destroy jobs than agree to meaningful cuts that would promote private-sector job growth instead.”

Democrat leaders are clear that they are united in their budget plan to raise job-destroying taxes to the tune of $2 trillion:

“Facing a possible future downgrade of America’s credit rating, President Barack Obama on Tuesday told the first of three town hall-style meetings this week that a ‘big philosophical divide’ exists between his approach to deficit reduction and how Republicans think.” (Tom Cohen, “Obama talks fiscal reform at town hall-style meeting,” CNN, 4/19/11)

DCCC Chairman Steve Israel (D-NY): “The President and House Democrats are joined at the hip. There is no daylight between us.” (MSNBC’s “The Daily Rundown,” 4/19/11)

In response to the fiscal crisis they helped create, Brad Miller and his Democrat leaders are standing united in their commitment to preserve their spending spree by raising taxes. As Americans call for the federal government to live within its means, Miller has made it clear that he and his fellow Democrats will instead raise taxes, even if that means crushing the small businesses that North Carolina families rely upon for jobs.
