NRCC Targeted Calls Underscore Democrats’ Spending & Borrowing Spree
Minnesota Democrat Works to Protect Spending That Borrows $4 Billion a Day
Washington — The National Republican Congressional Committee today is announcing targeted calls that highlight Collin Peterson’s continuing government spending spree with money borrowed from foreign countries like China. As Peterson adamantly defends these enormous levels of spending, the government now borrows $4 billion a day, placing that burden on future generations in Minnesota and placing the economy in an increasingly precarious state. As the national debt continues to skyrocket above $14 trillion, his Minnesota constituents will begin to wonder when he would ever have the government live within its means.
“While families throughout Minnesota have to cut back and live within their means, Collin Peterson continues to support Democrat policies that spend money we don’t have and borrows money from countries like China,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “These calls highlight what Peterson seems to forget, which is that there are real consequences to continuing his policies that borrow $4 billion a day to fuel his addiction to government spending. As growing debt, interest and inflation threaten the economy, Peterson’s Minnesota constituents simply want to know when he will stop burdening them with more debt.”
The call script is as follows:
As the call demonstrates, Peterson’s big-spending ways mean that we continue to borrow from countries like China and pass $4 billion a day in debt onto future generations. Instead of threatening the economy today and burdening future generations with trillions in debt, perhaps Peterson should finally relinquish the government spending he has become so committed to.
