Arkansas Democrat’s Failed Big-Government Policies Stifling Job Creation with Unemployment at 9.2%

Washington — With the news that unemployment in June stayed high at 9.2 percent, it remains clear that Mike Ross and his fellow Democrats who control Washington have failed to encourage adequate economic growth. Now, Ross and his Democrat leaders continue to defy common-sense by advocating for higher taxes on families and small businesses in Arkansas already suffering from a largely absent recovery. Ross shows no signs of relenting on his failed policies, which will continue to stall recovery and discourage job creation when it is needed most.

“These numbers are a stark reminder that the American economy continues to struggle, and Mike Ross and his party have made it worse,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Instead of recognizing that his party’s anti-growth agenda has failed Arkansas’ middle-class families and small businesses miserably, Ross and his Democrat leaders continue to stubbornly push more of their destructive taxing, spending and borrowing. Ross should recognize that his Arkansas constituents want less debt and more growth, not even higher job-destroying taxes.”

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics today reported that unemployment in June [rose even higher/remains unacceptably high]:

Future employment numbers under the failed Democrat status quo are not expected to improve either, with many companies planning new layoffs instead of hiring:

“As the economic recovery continues to lose momentum, more job losses are on the horizon for thousands of Americans, according to a report released Wednesday. The number of planned job cuts rose 11.6% in June to 41,432 from May’s 37,135, according to outplacement consulting firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas.”

“‘The employment picture remains a bit cloudy. Continued slowness in the pace of job cuts is certainly promising. However, hiring is coming in spurts and is not quite robust enough to make a significant dent in unemployment,’ John A. Challenger, chief executive officer of Challenger, Gray & Christmas said in a statement.”

The American economy clearly continues to struggle under the weight of Mike Ross’ failed big-government policies. And rather than recognizing his mistake, Ross and his Democrat Leaders are now advocating for even more job-destroying tax hikes. Economic recovery will continue to remain elusive as long as Ross and his fellow Democrats controlling Washington refuse to admit their policies have failed.
