New, Startling Implications Arise over Future of Job Growth as Dem Policies Hinder Job Creators

DC DEMOCRATS STILL DON’T GET IT: Despite the desperate plea from struggling American families for job-creating policies, Democrats in Washington refuse to be proactive about real economic recovery:

“With 9.1% unemployment and gasoline prices in the stratosphere, President Obama must sometimes wish that some big corporation would suddenly show up and offer a shovel-ready, multibillion-dollar project to create 100,000 jobs and reduce U.S. reliance on oil from dictatorships.” (Editorial, “Jobs in the Pipeline,” The Wall Street Journal, 7/7/11)

MADE IN WASHINGTON, DC: Little to no improvement in unemployment numbers suggests that the Democrats who control Washington continue to fail to encourage adequate economic growth when American middle class families need it the most:

“Gallup’s Job Creation Index was at +14 in July. This is not much different from the +15 of June and is the same as the +14 of May. Job creation continues to be flat — it has been in the +12 to +15 range since February — but remains above 2009 and 2010 levels, and below those of 2008.

“Hiring has also remained virtually flat over the past six months, as Gallup’s hiring measure has stayed in the 30% to 33% range. That is, employers appear to be holding back on their hiring during recent months. Companies may be concerned about how much business they expect to get in the future. This reduction in operating visibility seems to be hindering hiring, which is consistent with the weak jobless claims and job growth data the government has reported in recent months” (Dennis Jacobe, “U.S. Employers Holding Back on Job Creation,” Gallup, 8/2/2011)
