McIntyre Ignores Needs of North Carolina Families as Unemployment Rises Even Higher
Due to McIntyre’s Policies, the North Carolina Economy is Plagued by No Job Growth
Washington — Due to Mike McIntyre’s job-crushing policies, low consumer confidence and stagnate economic growth are responsible for the July unemployment rate in North Carolina rising even higher to 10.1 percent. The news of continuing economy distress makes it harder for McIntyre to justify more of the same unpopular policies that are responsible for North Carolina families’ hardships.
“Instead of championing Obama’s hyper-regulatory policies that are stunting job growth, McIntyre should incentivize North Carolina’s small businesses so that they can create jobs and grow our economy again,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “North Carolina families are sick of the empty rhetoric from McIntyre and his fellow Washington Democrats and it is past time that they give a concrete plan to their constituents that will actually produce jobs, not destroy them.”

A recent report from Bloomberg proves that the job market is still struggling under Washington Democrats’ job-destroying policies as inflation is soaring and filed unemployment claims are higher than predicted:

“Rising inflation for consumers has been a worry for economists because higher prices wear down consumer confidence, which can hurt growth in the economy. Inflation also prevents the Federal Reserve from addressing the economic slowdown with more quantitative easing…

“Meanwhile, the government also reported this morning an increase in initial filings for jobless benefits to 408,000 in the week ending Aug. 13. Economists were expecting initial claims to come in at 400,000 after the prior week saw a revised 399,000 number of Americans filing for the first time.” (Shobhana Chandra, “Jobless Claims in U.S. Top Forecast,” Bloomberg, 8/18/2011)

Mike McIntyre owes North Carolina families real job creation. It’s time he stops burdening small businesses with road blocks and red tape when he should be empowering them so they can stop a bad economy from getting any worse.
