White House Doubles Down on More Failed Stimulus: Will McIntyre Join Them?
Biden Calls for Another Wasteful Stimulus in the Wake of the First Round’s Failure

Washington — Even though Mike McIntyre and his fellow Washington Democrats presided over the most rapid increase in the national debt ever, many party leaders like Vice President Biden are already demanding even more spending. Does that mean McIntyre will join his tone-deaf Democrat leaders in doubling down on their record-setting spending spree, despite the obvious failure of these policies the first time around?

“Mike McIntyre and his fellow Washington Democrats have presided over record levels of borrowing, but apparently that isn’t enough to satisfy their party leaders’ addiction to government spending,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “However, McIntyre’s constituents in North Carolina and even liberal economists recognize the stimulus’ only accomplishment was to place even more debt on future generations.”

Even liberal economists admit the Democrats controlling Washington have not fostered economic growth, and the stimulus was a key failure:

“Economist Jeffrey Sachs slammed President Obama on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ on Friday.

“We’re almost three years into this administration, and there’s never been a plan. And that’s what everybody feels. And the president didn’t lead. He waited…”

“So we’ve been drifting for a very long time. And we’ve been drifting down. And we had a short-term plan that failed. A short-term stimulus that was supposed to get the economy back on track, but it failed. And now we have nothing behind it. And we have no agreements, and we have no leadership.” (“Economist Jeffrey Sachs Hits Obama: ‘There’s Never Been A Plan,'” Real Clear Politics, 8/19/11)

Despite this, Vice President Biden recently echoed what many Democrat leaders have been saying, and demanded even more stimulus spending:

“Vice President Joe Biden said on Friday the U.S. economy needed more stimulus, putting in a plug for government intervention shortly before the White House unveils new proposals to boost job growth.”

“‘Everybody says we should’ve (had)…a bigger stimulus package. Yeah, we should’ve. I was pushing (for) it,’ he said.” (Jeff Mason, “Biden: U.S. needs more stimulus, business mad at S&P,” Reuters, 8/26/11)

Mike McIntyre and his fellow Washington Democrats presided over record levels of skyrocketing debt, but apparently this wasn’t enough for their party leaders. If McIntyre joins with Vice President Biden in demanding even more stimulus spending, it would demonstrate how out of touch he is with his constituents in North Carolina demanding pro-growth policies instead.
