California Democrat Votes to Let Labor Board Interfere with and Halt Private Sector Job Creation
Washington — Dennis Cardoza today voted to let the federal government intrude on job creation efforts if they don’t please the Democrats’ special interest allies, even if that means blocking the creation of jobs entirely at a time when middle-class families need them most. When presented with an opportunity to prevent common-sense defying government interference that destroys jobs, Cardoza voted to support the Democrats’ failed status quo instead.
“Dennis Cardoza has made it clear that he will continue to allow federal bureaucrats to burden job creators with uncertainty and support more of the Democrats’ same job-crushing policies that will make a bad economy worse,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “In voting to again support President Obama’s failed economic playbook, Cardoza demonstrates that he is completely out of touch with middle-class families in California that need economic growth above all else.”
Recently, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) blocked efforts to create over a thousand new jobs in South Carolina:
Even General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt – the Chair of President Obama’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness – had to admit the NLRB’s actions defy all common sense:
“‘You’ve got a world-class, high-tech, job-creating force that’s coming into South Carolina. I just can’t think of one reason why we’d want to slow that down, not one,’ Immelt said.
” (Dustan Prial, “Immelt: ‘Way in Support’ of Boeing in NLRB Battle,” Fox Business, 7/13/11)Cardoza opposed the Protecting Jobs From Government Interference Act, which would simply prohibit the NLRB from ordering private-sector employers to close, relocate, or transfer the jobs they create. (H.R. 2587, Roll Call #711: Passed 238-186: R 230-7; D 8-179, 9/15/11)
Instead of working to understand how to create jobs for the middle-class families in California who need them, Cardoza voted to empower runaway federal bureaucrats to make decisions best left to job creators. Once again, Cardoza is supporting the same job-destroying Democrat policies that will only make a bad economy worse.
