Leader Pelosi Invites Obama to Campaign With Shuler in His District
House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi Also Offers North Carolina Democrat’s Support for More Failed Stimulus Spending and Job-Killing Taxes

Washington — Although Heath Shuler has been coy on whether his solution to the bad economy is even more failed stimulus spending, House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi this weekend offered his support for President Obama’s second stimulus plan. Pelosi declared that all of her members, including Shuler, would be proud to have the President campaign for them in their districts and that they are completely on board with another failed stimulus package fueled by more job-killing tax hikes.

“Heath Shuler may want to hide his record of loyalty to President Obama’s failed agenda, but now we can see Nancy Pelosi knows she can count on it as she attempts to force through another failed stimulus package fueled with more job-killing tax hikes,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Shuler is clearly much more in tune with what Pelosi and Obama want instead of middle-class families in North Carolina who need real job creation solutions after years of failed Democrat leadership in Washington. Only one question remains: when will Shuler be inviting Obama and Pelosi to campaign for him in North Carolina?”

On Sunday, Pelosi defended President Obama’s second stimulus plan, touting unanimous support among her caucus:

“House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to Christiane Amanpour, in a bite for ABC’s ‘This Week’ that didn’t make the show, on whether she would advise vulnerable Dems to invite President Obama into their districts to campaign with them: …

“The president would be well received by any one of our members into their districts. … [T]he consensus in our caucus that we’re very proud of his coming forth with a jobs bill, with his speaking out about why it’s important to the American people. His reelection is very important to the country. … [H]e’s been a great president. And our members are very proud of him. And I think any one of us would love to have the president as a guest in our districts.” (Mike Allen, Politico‘s Playbook, 10/9/11)

Nancy Pelosi has made it clear that Heath Shuler and the entire House Democrat caucus is behind President Obama’s calls for more failed stimulus spending. Does that mean Heath Shuler will be welcoming President Obama to his district soon to promote another stimulus package fueled with job-killing taxes?
