Georgia Blue Dogs Pledge ‘YES’ Vote for Balanced Budget in Final Hours
With the Clock Ticking, Self-Proclaimed Moderate Dems to Support BBA

Trying to persevere amid Obama’s low polling numbers, Georgia Blue Dogs John Barrow and Sanford Bishop have felt the pressure to transform their “fiscal conservative” bark into a real bite:

“Blue Dogs in Congress, already an endangered species following the last election, are bracing for another challenging campaign season… Redistricting, coupled with President Obama’s low approval ratings, has buoyed GOP hopes of picking up seats in the 2012 election.” (Cameron Joseph, “Conservative Dems Try to Persevere Amid Low Obama Poll Numbers,” The Hill, 9/27/2011)

Just in time, self-proclaimed “moderates” John Barrow and Sanford Bishop concede to pressure from Republicans, American voters:

“…Rep. John Barrow, D-Savannah, …joined his Blue Dog Democratic colleagues in publicly backing the amendment.”

“Fellow Blue Dog Sanford Bishop, of Albany, said he supports the amendment as well.” (Daniel Malloy, “Balanced budget vote will be close, but goal is far away,” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 11/18/2011)
