Remembering John Barrow’s Failed Spending Policies

December 15, 2011

Good Afternoon –

On the eve of the stimulus anniversary, I thought you would be interested in taking a look back at John Barrow’s rhetoric on the failed spending plan versus the economic reality.

Rhetoric

John Barrow: “Too many folks in the 12th District need jobs, and this bill will create jobs

“This bill will get us started on the road to economic recovery right away, and that’s what’s necessary right now.”

(Press Release, “Barrow Backs American Recovery And Reinvestment Plan,” Office of Congressman John Barrow, 2009)

Reality
Since the stimulus passed:

Georgia’s unemployment rate has increased from 8.7% to 10.2%. (Bureau of Labor Statistics)

209,186 jobs have been lost. (Bureau of Labor Statistics)

NRCC Comment: “Unfortunately Georgia’s working families have seen nothing but ballooning deficits and mountains of debt come from the spending plan John Barrow voted for. Barrow failed to deliver the results once promised to middle-class families.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Andrea Bozek
