Obama Makes No Plans to Fix Lingering Mass Unemployment Problem in 2012
Creating Thousands of Jobs by Approving Keystone Pipeline Project Not Obama’s Priority as 2012 Agenda Includes No Job-Creating Items

DC DEMOCRATS STILL DON’T GET IT: Instead of promoting job growth, President Obama is threatening to destroy thousands of potential jobs on the basis that it’s “not in the nation’s interest”:

“Republicans did claim a major victory, winning a provision that would require Obama to make a swift decision on whether to approve construction of the Canada-to-Texas Keystone XL oil pipeline, which could generate thousands of construction jobs. To stop construction, Obama, who had wanted to put the decision off until after the 2012 election, would have to declare it was not in the nation’s interest.” (Andrew Taylor, “Tax cut survives: Congress votes holiday approval,” Associated Press, 12/23/11)

MADE IN WASHINGTON, DC: According to White House spokesman Josh Earnest, Obama has no plans to pursue a legislative agenda in 2012 – focusing on saving his job instead of creating thousands of them for working families:

“White House spokesman Josh Earnest said extending the payroll tax break through next year, a fight that will consume Congress after lawmakers return to Washington in January, is ‘the last must-do item of business on the president’s congressional agenda.’”

“’There are certainly other things that the president would like to do,’ Mr. Earnest said, adding that Mr. Obama will continue to prod Congress to pass some of his jobs proposals. ‘But in terms of essential, must-do items, the payroll-tax-cut extension is the last one.’” (Carol E. Lee, “White House Looks to Shrunken 2012 Legislative Agenda,” Wall Street Journal, 1/1/2012)
