New York Democrat Clings to Tainted DCCC Cash as Thousands of American Families and Farmers Sue Corzine for Their Missing Money
Washington — Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Chairman Steve Israel’s disgraced fundraiser Jon Corzine continues to attract controversy since he is now the target of a class action lawsuit from farmers alleging that he raided their investment funds to make failed risky bets on Wall Street. Despite the continuing accusations of potentially illegal Wall Street gambling Corzine conducted at the expense of American families and farmers, Israel has clung to his Corzine cash at the DCCC and demonstrated that his party’s own reelection prospects are his top priority.
“It is outrageous that Steve Israel continues to cling to Corzine’s tainted cash after he gambled away billions of dollars from thousands of American families and farmers with reckless and potentially illegal Wall Street bets,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Every passing day that Israel refuses to return the money demonstrates that he puts filling the DCCC’s campaign coffers before standing up for American families and farmers.”

Thousands of farmers are filing a class-action lawsuit against Corzine, claiming he illegally raided their investments to make risky bets on Wall Street, which he ultimately lost:
“The lawsuit, filed on behalf of all 38,000 customers, alleges that when MF Global made a series of bad investments — notably in European debt — it began ‘siphoning funds withdrawn from segregated client accounts’ to cover its debts.”

The longer Israel ignores this problem, the more he demonstrates he is unwilling to put American farmers and families first.
