New NRCC Web Ad: “Maddow” Challenges Obama to Create American Jobs and North American-Made Energy with Keystone Pipeline
Obama Still Beholden to Environmental Activists Instead of Creating Jobs for Middle Class
Washington — The National Republican Congressional Committee announced today an online video challenging President Obama for ignoring calls for American jobs as he delays action on the Keystone XL Pipeline project. Even with bipartisan support and the backing of labor unions, Obama is playing politics with the future of many struggling American families looking for job creation and energy independence.
“Even Rachel Maddow should be able to understand the benefits of a project like Keystone XL, which not only can help with our country’s energy needs but also has the potential to bring tens of thousands of jobs to a struggling American economy,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Unfortunately, Americans are doomed to wait in uncertainty as President Obama continues to side with wealthy anti-energy activist donors to his campaign instead of making a simple decision to help get our economy back on track.”
The original MSNBC TV ad featuring the real Rachel Maddow can be found here. The NRCC’s parody video can be viewed here.
The script is as follows:
You can’t be the state who builds this – you can’t even be the town who builds this – but you can be the guy who stops something like this.
This is an energy infrastructure project. It’s got national significance.
We’ve got a project like this waiting for the President’s go ahead supported by Republicans and Democrats, labor unions. It’d provide energy security and up to 130,000 jobs.
We’ve got to figure out why the President thinks we’re not a county that can think this big.
