New Unemployment Numbers Show Garamendi-Backed Policies Making Bad Economy Even Worse
Californians Get No Relief from Economic Turmoil Under Garamendi’s Watch

Washington — Unemployment for the month of December was announced today at the atrocious rate of 11.1 percent, reflecting yet another month of John Garamendi’s failed policies and political gamesmanship. While California families struggle to put food on the table, Garamendi continues to put his own political interests before job creation and economic recovery.

“The latest unemployment numbers remain unacceptably high, but that hasn’t stopped John Garamendi from pursuing the same failed policies that have made a bad economy even worse,” said NRCC Communication’s Director Paul Lindsay. “How many jobs will have to be lost before Garamendi ends this job-destroying regulatory regime and stops supporting policies that have are so destructive to small businesses and California’s hard-working taxpayers?”

In December, California’s unemployment rate remained unacceptably high at to 11.1 percent. (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Accessed 1/24/2012)

With Obama as president, Americans’ rate of satisfaction with the stagnant economy has continually dropped and now it’s at its lowest level ever:

“Americans’ satisfaction with the state of the nation’s economy has dropped by 23 percentage points since January 2008 to 13%, according to a Jan. 5-8 Gallup poll. These figures represent both the lowest rate of satisfaction and the biggest decline seen for any of 24 issues measured in the survey.”
(Lydia, Saad, “U.S. Economy Most Toxic of 24 Issues,” Gallup, 1/23/2012)

While the California unemployment rate stays at a debilitatingly high level, John Garamendi stands strong for his failed, hyper-regulatory policies. California hard-working taxpayers are realizing that the only way to get the economy back on track is to get John Garamendi out of office.
