Obama-McIntyre Budget Doubles Down on Failed Fiscal Policies & Broken Promises
North Carolina Democrat Will Have to Decide Whether to Keep Supporting the Obama Fiscal Roadmap: More Job-Killing Taxes and an Even Higher Deficit

Washington — President Obama today will unveil the Democrats’ budget, presenting Mike McIntyre with a serious decision to make on whether to pile on even more government debt on every family in America. McIntyre’s Democrat leaders are making it clear with their election-year budget that they intend to go all in on the same failed policies of spending, borrowing and taxing to continue their government spending spree unimpeded, even though they promised to cut the deficit in half instead of increase it even further.

“If this is Mike McIntyre’s budget plan, then all he is offering is more taxing, spending and borrowing that will destroy jobs now and put America down the path to fiscal ruin for future generations,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “Even though McIntyre and his fellow Democrats promised to cut the deficit they have skyrocketed in half, this budget plan shows they intend to break that promise and continue their failed spending spree as long as possible.”

The Democrats’ budget plan actually increases the deficit for 2012, even though President Obama promised to cut the deficit in half after his first term:

“President Obama’s 2013 budget due out Monday will estimate the deficit for 2012 to be $1.33 trillion, higher than the $1.29 trillion deficit in 2011, according to senior administration officials…”

“The budget estimates that the deficit in 2013 will be $901 billion. This means that Obama will fail to cut the deficit in half after his first term, something he once vowed to do.” (Erik Wasson, “Obama budget sees increased deficit,” The Hill‘s On The Money Blog, 2/10/12)

In ramping up the skyrocketing deficit even further, the Democrats make it clear they are still oblivious to the dangers of their disastrous policies:

“Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke told a congressional panel Thursday that shrinking the deficit ‘should be a top priority,’ saying that spending projections over the next decade are ‘clearly unsustainable…'”

“The worst case scenario — ‘which ultimately will happen’ without changes — in that borrowing costs would skyrocket as investors lose confidence, mirroring the kinds of panic currently being seen in European countries like Greece, Bernanke said.” (Josh Boak, “Ben Bernanke: Spending ‘unsustainable,'” Politico, 2/2/12)

Mike McIntyre and his fellow Democrats promised to cut their sky high deficit in half by the end of this year, but now they are making it clear they never intended to fulfill that pledge. President Obama’s budget plan demonstrates Washington Democrats can only be trusted to keep taxing, spending and borrowing while putting that debt burden on every American family.
